Writing in Cuneiform!

 

Dear Readers,

My subsequent posts will be related to the projects described in our new book, Traveling Through Time:  Who Invented Writing.  I will also explain the rationale behind this multimodal approach to literacy learning across the content areas using reading, writing, creating, and the integration of technology.

Mixing the ingredients necessary for our clay tablets.

We found that a pencil or the tip of a plastic ruler worked well to write the cuneiform letters.

We learned how difficult cuneiform writing is to learn!  Stassi is engraving her initials after utililizing the translation resource provided in this chapter.

The final product – creatively spelled!
